COMMERCIAL- Because of my experience in Industrial Design the lead architect asked me to put together a furniture plan for an orthodontist office we were remodeling. I had to balance fun and exciting things like neon green Eames Elephants with price-point driven seating mixed with easily to clean and easy to upkeep tables. (Photos by Gilbertson Photography)
RESIDENTIAL- My role in this project was to coordinate fixtures and finishes with the client and contractor.
RESIDENTIAL- My favorite aspect of both industrial and interior design is lighting. We were finishing detailing and selecting finishes for a major new construction on the shores of Lake Superior when the lead architect asked me to coordinate lighting with the client for several different spaces in the home. The challenge was to not only present the client with interesting forms and quality of light, but to also have the finishes relate to highly customized fixtures, like the "Porsche" kitchen by Poggenpohl, and existing furniture the client was transferring from their old home. RESIDENTIAL- The client wanted to remodel their master bathroom and simultaneously remodel their master closet. Given their Italian heritage, the client wanted both spaces to read as 'Tuscan.' So as to avoid the remodel looking overly cliched, or like an an Olive Garden bathroom , I found inspiration from the color pallet of Italian renaissance stamps.
